Set It Up
For this activity you will need:
Paper
Printer
Writing tool for answers – crayon, pencils etc
Optional: small manipulatives to use for counting
Optional: laminator and dry erase markers
Below are the supplies I use personally at home. After doing so many printable activities, I’ve found that it’s most helpful to always have these basic supplies on hand.

Start It Up
Print one or all 3 sheets depending on the age of your child. There are 3 levels of difficulty.
If you are using it in a classroom, I would recommend laminating it for durability and using dry erase markers instead.
Small manipulatives could be used to cover each item as they find it and make it easier to keep count. This would also add an element of fine motor practice if you were to give pom poms and tweezers, for example.
Once they have finished counting up each item, they will write their answers in the provided space below.
Pair It Up
Ten Red Apples by Pat Hutckins – this fun rhyming book helps children count to 10 and fits in nicely with the apple theme.
Ten Apples Up on Top by Dr. Seuss – this is another classic favourite that’s great for reading any time.
Brilcon Apple Tree Match Montessori Educational Toy – A simple counting toy for children to understand the concept of 1 to 10. Match the number on the trunk to the number of apples on the tree
