Pirate Themed Activities Setup

For this activity pack you will need:

Paper 

Printer

Playdough

Small manipulatives or tokens

Scissors

Clips or wooden pegs

Writing tools – crayon, pencil, etc

Pompoms, dot stickers or bingo markers

Optional but recommended: Laminator and dry erase markers for use in a center and increasing durability

Printable Pirate Literacy and Math Centers

This pack contains a variety of 10 themed centers that will develop literacy, early math and fine motor skills.

Games included:

1) Finding Pirate Treasure – Pick a letter card and find it on the recording sheet. Color in the correct letter until all letters have been found. This would be a fun game to combine with a sensory bin or as a treasure hunt around the room.

2) Playdough Alphabet Mats – Pirate-themed mats for forming the letters while working on fine motor strengthening.

3) Pirate Alphabet Matching – Pair up the upper and lowercase letters.

4) Pirate Finds the X – 15 different tracing patterns for pre-writing practice.

5) Colorful Jewel Match – Flip over the cards 2 at a time to try to match up the gems by color.

6) Pirate Ten Frame Counting Mats – Use these with some gold coin tokens, pompoms, etc to work on one to one correspondence and ten frames.

7) Counting Up The Treasure – Count the number of coins and then place a clip at the correct number from 1-20.

8) Emotions Playdough Mats – Blank mats for children to design with playdough (or even drawing with dry erase markers). Emotion word cards are provided for inspiration.

9) Parrot Patterns – In this activity, kids will complete the color patterns that include ABAB, AABAAB and ABCABC. You can use pompoms, dot stickers or bingo markers to complete the pattern strips. 

10) Pirate Simple Sums – 12 Addition and 12 subtraction cards are provided for this activity as well as a recording sheet for the answers.
