Did you know that I run an online bookshop selling Usborne children’s books? Because of this, I created this printable treasure hunt that you can use as a World Book Day activity. This free bookshelf scavenger hunt will get students to look for specific books and encourage reading. Besides being a World Book Day activity, you can actually use it any time of the year and with students across many different age groups to promote literacy in general.

Fun World Book Day Activity
In this free printable worksheet, your students will need to find 10 different books – one about science, one that rhymes, etc. You’ll provide them with the checklist and then send them off on their bookshelf hunt.
To make it more interesting, you could make it a race or a team game! For older kids, you could get them to read the books aloud once they have found them. As for me, I’ll be using this printable treasure hunt to run a competition in my online bookshop. I hope your little ones enjoy going on their bookshelf scavenger hunt!
